This picture was taken at the 1995 World Scout Jamboree opening ceremony in Holland. This was my first foreign friend I met at the Jamboree, Beinta T.Lauritsen. She is from the Faroe Islands ( most of you will be wandering where the **** is Faroe Islands ) I had no idea myself when i first met her. Faroe Islands is a small island ( country ) situated just above the United Kingdom.We lost contact after several years of writing letters to each other & after she moved to Norway. Well..Facebook made it all happen when i decided to search for Beinta and i finally found her again after almost 10 years. Guess what.. she is in Tanzania, Africa with her family right now! Who would have thought a girl from Faroe Islands 13 years ago has gone to Tanzania..unbelievable!!
Anyways, the World Scout Jamboree is an event similar to the Olympic Games whereby scouts from around the world gather once every 4 years. Lots of fun & activities...and yes it's definitely not FREE.
